Reported Safety Incidents

In Q2 2026: property incidents were 40% (2,602), violent incidents were 34% (2,252), vehicle crimes were 17% (1,101) and public order incidents were 1% (44).

Recorded crime here is grouped into violent crime, property crime (burglary and theft), vehicle crime and public order offences, so you can compare how safe each neighborhood is for the kind of crime that matters to you.

Read category comparisons with care. A category that jumps while the total hardly moves looks like a change in how offences are classified, not in what happened: Q3 2022: vehicle up 27% while the total moved 4%. The whole-area rate is the steadier guide.

Places we left out, and places to read with care

Left out: East Park; West Park. They have almost no residents: their crimes are against visitors, so a rate per resident says little about living there.

Wissahickon Park (71.0 per 1,000 from 27 crimes among 380 residents), Blue Bell Hill (18.1 per 1,000 from 10 crimes among 551 residents), West Parkside (171.0 per 1,000 from 146 crimes among 854 residents), Wissahickon Hills (8.4 per 1,000 from 9 crimes among 1,071 residents), Roxborough Park (21.8 per 1,000 from 29 crimes among 1,331 residents), Germany Hill (8.9 per 1,000 from 18 crimes among 2,019 residents), Dearnley Park (3.2 per 1,000 from 7 crimes among 2,215 residents) and Andorra (11.8 per 1,000 from 29 crimes among 2,456 residents) are places with few residents (under 3,000): a rate on so few people says little about living there, so they are not named as the lowest or highest.

Rates are recorded crimes per 1,000 residents, quarter by quarter; where a neighborhood has fewer than 100 residents the rate would be worked out on 100 (those places are left out of the race). A count of recorded crime is not a verdict on any neighborhood.
