Places we left out, and places to read with care

Left out: Adel; High Weardley; Holt Park; Weeton; Weetwood. They have almost no residents: their crimes are against visitors, so a rate per resident says little about living there.

Eccup (9.5 per 1,000 from 1 crime among 105 residents), Wike (3.2 per 1,000 from 1 crime among 310 residents), Roundhay (38.8 per 1,000 from 26 crimes among 671 residents), Monkswood (24.8 per 1,000 from 23 crimes among 926 residents), Wellington Hill (20.1 per 1,000 from 20 crimes among 996 residents), Shadwell (13.8 per 1,000 from 14 crimes among 1,014 residents), Meanwood (6.8 per 1,000 from 10 crimes among 1,481 residents), Camp Town (25.2 per 1,000 from 52 crimes among 2,062 residents), Alwoodley Park (8.6 per 1,000 from 22 crimes among 2,565 residents), Adel East Moor (12.0 per 1,000 from 33 crimes among 2,746 residents) and Slaid Hill (17.9 per 1,000 from 51 crimes among 2,855 residents) are places with few residents (under 3,000): a rate on so few people says little about living there, so they are not named as the lowest or highest.

Rates are recorded crimes per 1,000 residents, quarter by quarter; where a neighbourhood has fewer than 100 residents the rate would be worked out on 100 (those places are left out of the race). A count of recorded crime is not a verdict on any neighbourhood.
