A little history

Ilkley in Bradford. Bradford is a city in West Yorkshire that became a municipal borough in 1847 and received a city charter in 1897; since the 1974 reform, city status has belonged to the larger City of Bradford metropolitan borough. Ilkley is a spa town and civil parish within that borough. It lies mainly on the south bank of the River Wharfe in Wharfedale, one of the Yorkshire Dales, north of Bradford.

Ilkley and Ben Rhydding. Ilkley is a spa town that was historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. Its civil parish includes the adjacent village of Ben Rhydding, which is part of the Ilkley urban area. The Ilkley civil parish is part of the Ilkley and Addingham ward within the City of Bradford.

Addingham. Addingham is a village and civil parish in the City of Bradford. It lies in the valley of the River Wharfe, near the A65, west of Ilkley and close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Its name is thought to mean "homestead associated with a man called Adda". The Domesday Book referred to the village as "Ediham", which may have referred to Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey.
