Places we left out, and places to read with care
Left out: Canary Wharf; Spitalfields. They have almost no residents: their crimes are against visitors, so a rate per resident says little about living there.
West India Quay (45.1 per 1,000 from 64 crimes among 1,418 residents) and Poplar (32.8 per 1,000 from 69 crimes among 2,103 residents) are places with few residents (under 3,000): a rate on so few people says little about living there, so they are not named as the lowest or highest.
