In Q2 2026: property incidents were 45% (106), violent incidents were 16% (38), vehicle crimes were 14% (32) and public order incidents were 10% (23).

Recorded crime here is grouped into violent crime, property crime (burglary and theft), vehicle crime and public order offences, so you can compare how safe each neighborhood is for the kind of crime that matters to you.

Places we left out, and places to read with care

Left out: Country Manor; Country Ridge; Hickory Ridge; Hunters Lake; Kimbleton Estates; Legacy Court; Maison Rouge Townhomes; Old Jefferson; Rolling Meadow; Sherwood Manor; South Hampton Condos. They have almost no residents: their crimes are against visitors, so a rate per resident says little about living there.

Carrington Place (0.0 per 1,000 from 0 crimes among 116 residents), Parkoaks Condominiums (11.6 per 1,000 from 2 crimes among 172 residents), Fairwood West (28.9 per 1,000 from 5 crimes among 173 residents), Fairwood Estates (51.4 per 1,000 from 9 crimes among 175 residents), Royal Oak (17.1 per 1,000 from 3 crimes among 175 residents), Stumberg Ridge (0.0 per 1,000 from 0 crimes among 238 residents), Li Rocchi (8.3 per 1,000 from 2 crimes among 241 residents), Stumberg Colony And Townhomes (0.0 per 1,000 from 0 crimes among 357 residents), Shadowbrook (5.6 per 1,000 from 2 crimes among 358 residents), Afton Oaks (2.5 per 1,000 from 1 crime among 394 residents), Shiloh (12.0 per 1,000 from 5 crimes among 418 residents), Parkview Oaks Ii (16.9 per 1,000 from 8 crimes among 474 residents), Maison Deville (43.9 per 1,000 from 26 crimes among 592 residents), Ascot (10.0 per 1,000 from 7 crimes among 700 residents), Hidden Ridge (1.4 per 1,000 from 1 crime among 713 residents), Holly Ridge Townhomes (6.8 per 1,000 from 8 crimes among 1,170 residents), Camelot (37.7 per 1,000 from 48 crimes among 1,273 residents) and Wedgewood (13.8 per 1,000 from 20 crimes among 1,454 residents) are places with few residents (under 3,000): a rate on so few people says little about living there, so they are not named as the lowest or highest.

Sources and notes

CrimesLog sources crime incident data published by the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) through the Open Data BR platform (data.brla.gov), containing public sector information released under a Public Domain licence.

Population: U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 5-year estimates (public domain).

First-place medal: 1st Place Medal emoji icon by Icons8.

Neighborhood boundaries are defined by EBRGIS, City of Baton Rouge / Parish of East Baton Rouge (gaps between neighborhood areas filled to the nearest neighborhood by CrimesLog), grouped into Metro Council districts and simplified by CrimesLog. The photographs are credited under each picture.

Rates are recorded crimes per 1,000 residents, quarter by quarter; where a neighborhood has fewer than 100 residents the rate would be worked out on 100 (those places are left out of the race). A count of recorded crime is not a verdict on any neighborhood.
