Reported Safety Incidents

In Q2 2026: property incidents were 40% (360), violent incidents were 36% (328), vehicle crimes were 24% (223) and public order incidents were 0% (0).

Recorded crime here is grouped into violent crime, property crime (burglary and theft), vehicle crime and public order offences, so you can compare how safe each neighborhood is for the kind of crime that matters to you.

Places we left out, and places to read with care

Left out: Clifton Park; Herring Run Park; Lower Herring Run Park; Montebello. They have almost no residents: their crimes are against visitors, so a rate per resident says little about living there.

Belair-Parkside (30.8 per 1,000 from 9 crimes among 292 residents), Beverly Hills (25.9 per 1,000 from 17 crimes among 656 residents), Four By Four (31.1 per 1,000 from 21 crimes among 675 residents), Arcadia (6.6 per 1,000 from 6 crimes among 913 residents), Orchard Ridge (17.7 per 1,000 from 18 crimes among 1,019 residents), Moravia-Walther (3.7 per 1,000 from 5 crimes among 1,346 residents), Mayfield (1.2 per 1,000 from 2 crimes among 1,654 residents), Original Northwood (9.7 per 1,000 from 20 crimes among 2,062 residents), Parkside (11.7 per 1,000 from 27 crimes among 2,317 residents) and Armistead Gardens (11.9 per 1,000 from 31 crimes among 2,608 residents) are places with few residents (under 3,000): a rate on so few people says little about living there, so they are not named as the lowest or highest.

Neighborhood boundaries are the Neighborhood Statistical Areas defined by Baltimore City (Open Baltimore), grouped into police districts by CrimesLog and simplified by CrimesLog. The photographs are credited under each picture.

Rates are recorded crimes per 1,000 residents, quarter by quarter; where a neighborhood has fewer than 100 residents the rate would be worked out on 100 (those places are left out of the race). A count of recorded crime is not a verdict on any neighborhood.
