Frequently asked questions

What is a CrimesLog Home report?

An instant, address-level report combining a 0–100 Home Score with useful home-hunter information: the nearest nurseries, primary and secondary/high schools, a college or university, and healthcare facilities (physicians/doctors clinics and pharmacies, where available). The Home Score itself is built from a map of anonymised crime reporting points around the address, three-year crime trend lines by category, the two nearest police stations with contact details, and a list of reported incidents with dates, offences and distances. The purchased report includes a downloadable PDF to keep or share. How the score works →

Where does the crime data come from?

Official, openly published police data only: UK street-level crime data published by territorial police forces, and the open-data portals of US and Canadian police services (for example NYPD via the NYC Open Data portal). Data refreshes monthly, and every source is audited for commercial-use licensing. No private or scraped data is used.

Which places are covered?

Every address in England, Wales and Northern Ireland; 27 US cities and areas (New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Maryland statewide and more); and 5 Canadian cities (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Edmonton). Full list →

How much does it cost?

A one-off report is £24.99 / $34.00 / C$40.00. Agency signup is free — subscribers earn a 30% commission (£7.50 / $10.20 / C$12.00) on every report sold through their link. Full pricing →

Does a report identify victims or exact locations?

No. Crime locations are anonymised to the nearest common reporting point — one dot may represent several incidents — and CrimesLog holds no personal information about victims or suspects. Reports describe places, never people.

Is the Home Score a prediction?

No. It describes what has been recorded near an address over roughly the last three years — not what will happen — and it is not a guarantee of safety. Every report shows a data-confidence rating alongside the score, and where data is insufficient the report says so instead of showing a misleading score.

How do estate agents and realtors use it?

Signup is free — no subscription fee, no card or Direct Debit required. Add one hyperlink per listing to open a live report for that property on your own website — no API, no coding — and earn a flat 30% commission on every detailed report a buyer purchases through it, paid monthly via Wise. See UK estate agents or US & Canada realtors, or try the live sample report.

Is there a cost or contract for agencies?

No. Signup is free with no subscription fee, no card, and no Direct Debit. You can stop using your links at any time by emailing [email protected]. One-off reports are single purchases with nothing to cancel.

Can my agency appear on the CrimesLog map?

Every subscriber can opt in, at signup, to a pin showing their office on the live public crime map every CrimesLog visitor browses — free visibility to people actively researching an area. It's entirely voluntary: many agencies prefer not to appear on a crime map, and there's no obligation either way.
